I dodici giorni

The Christmas holidays are an opportunity for each of us to live a time of happiness and serenity with our families, friends and those dearest to us. And it is precisely to accompany these special days that Lia wished to give us "I Dodici Giorni" — ancient French popular hymns from the Christmas and Epiphany season: the journey to Bethlehem, the adoration of the shepherds, of the three wise kings, the presentation at the temple. These are some moments from the life of Jesus as, a few centuries ago, French faithful remembered and sang them. They are ancient Christmas songs, exquisitely human and at the same time deeply mystical, sung from generation to generation during the long Christmas vigil, in the happy and serene days that link Christmas to Epiphany. Eyes fixed on Heaven, hands clasped, hearts moved. Listen to them with the same spirit in which they were heard in centuries past, and may the treasure held within these melodies find a new echo in our hearts.
